Lady Entrepreneurs, a local South Florida technology firm, has offered free space on some of their servers collocated safely in Houston, Texas.
Kristin Wanden, the company President, made the decision to offer this service after worrying about her own company data.
"Our office and home is right on Ocean Drive in Hollywood Beach.
We were evacuated for Hurricane Frances and will be again if Hurrican Ivan makes a turn towards us.
We thought about our off-site servers and how to protect our own company data and wanted our clients to feel protected as well.
Our company has helped build our client's data systems, mostly with ACT!.
If they lose their data, they will have a horrible time trying to rebuild.
Most of our clients took us up on the offer. If the worst happens and someone's office is shut down they at least won't have to worry about starting over completely.
With our clients their database is their livelihood."One of their top clients, Sharon Bruna, Sales Administrator/Manager of the Ocean Palms Luxury High-rise at Hollywood Beach was also evacuated for Hurrican Frances.
"When Kristin contacted us about the offer we immediatly took her up on it.
Our ACT! database is what we use to track and manage our sales and prospective buyers.
If we lost it, to start over again would be horrendous.
The offer made by Kristin should show prospective clients the lengths with which Lady Entrepreneurs will go to offer the very finest in customer service."Just in case any of Lady Entrepreneurs clients are hit badly during hurricane season, they won't have to start completely from scratch.
Of course, no one can predict how much damage these hurricanes will cause.
"Being a small business owner myself, the work stoppage from Hurricane damage can vastly effect our daily business and our bottom line health." stated Kristin.Since moving a business location is out of the question in most cases, here are some tips for those business owners that might need to evacuate:1.
If you plan on packing up your computers, tape or wrap the cords around each piece of equipment.
This makes putting things back together much easier.2.
Charge up your cell phones and transfer your business line to your cell phone.
Our electricity went out but we were still able to conduct business with our clients outside of Florida via our cell phones.
3.
Unplug everything and turn off the power before you evacuate.
One of our clients left their phone system turned on.
During a power surge their entire system was destroyed.4.
Purchase a power inverter to plug into your vehicle cigarrette lighter to recharge cell phones, laptop batteries, make coffee, and watch news updates on a portable TV.5.
Backup your data to a trusted source, such as an internet backup service center but make sure their servers are NOT located in South Florida..
Radio Headsets
Headsets, also known as headphones, are hearing devices that are actually miniature speaker systems. They are stereo hearing systems that can be worn near the ear, thus providing mobility to the user. Traditional headsets were bulky and large with two speakers for both the ears encased in padded ovular ear cups. These ear cups were attached to a headband in the shape of an arch that went over the head. Each of these ear cups had a signal wire joined down together as a single wire, which was connected to the audio player or radio through a headphone jack.
Today's headsets, especially radio headsets, are technological wonders-extremely lightweight with no irritating cords, almost negligible in appearance, sound quality, durability and comfort. They are equipped with superior technologies like push-to-talk and duplex wireless transceivers. These can transmit scrambled digital signals in a spread spectrum format for ensuring complete security and privacy to the user...

?busy, busy, busy, busy, busy?busy, busy, bus? OK, slap me with a wet diaper! Enough of that silliness. Most you know what I'm talking about though, right? That's us! Busy. Doing what? Stuff. What kinds of stuff? All kinds of stuff. Like what? You name it.
Give me an example. Can't. Why not? Too busy?OK ? that's it! Blow the danged whistle! We need a Time Out!Holy Smokes, Folks! We're going outta control. No, not all of us of course. But there are enough of us pushing our physical, mental and emotional limits that it's worthwhile talking about it.
Let me ask you this. When was the last time you just kicked back and looked at the clouds to see what cartoonish kinds of figures or shapes you could see in them? Or the last time you touched a plant leaf and really thought about how it felt and how amazing it was that it was an actual living thing? Or the last time you strolled leisurely down the road or path and thought about nothing in particular? Or the last time you watched...

Smelling the roses and recharging our batteries!
This holiday season marks my 3-year anniversary in theInternet Marketing business. Of course, on suchanniversaries we all ask ourselves: Am I better off now thenwhen I started? My enthusiastic answer is: By far :-) Thatautomatically raises another anniversary question: Am Iwhere I want to be? My answer, thoughtful but stillenthusiastic, is: Not quite ;-)Sound familiar? Or maybe you haven't gotten to the "betteroff" part yet. Regardless of how you answer these twointrospective questions, my piece of advice to you thisholiday season is the same: Take some time off. Relax, enjoy your family, regroup your thoughts and goals anddecide what is really important to you, your personal life, and the lives of those most important to you. This piece of advice, like most advice I give, comes frompersonal experience. I have been running around like crazyfor the past three years growing this Internet business.Granted, it has paid off well, in many visible ways, but atwhat personal price? My children miss...
