Confused about VOIP? Join the crowd. It's not as difficult as it sounds and we are going to make VOIP simple for the average person. VOIP simply means Voice Over Internet Protocol. Now you don't need to know anything about the protocol so basically it is using the Internet to make phone calls. All you need is a high speed internet connection to make a VOIP call. There are many companies that offer VOIP service and offer the telephone with it.
Many will even set it up for you. Even local cable companies are offering to set you up. Once it is set up, you don't need to worry about anything. You can simply make telephone calls just like normal. Now you will be making calls through an internet company and not your phone company. Why should I use VOIP and are there any disadvantages?AdvantagesThe main reason most will want to use it is to lower their phone bills.
You will normally pay a flat fee and you will get long distance to the US and Canada with it at no extra charge. You can keep you phone number that you have now.No matter where you move you can take your phone number with you even if you move to a different area code. My daughter moved to Bermuda and she kept her home phone number. When you move and your phone moves with you there are no extra setup charges as there is with your local phone If you are travelling you can set it up to use your laptop or wireless connection, as long as it is high speed. Most hotels these days accomodate this. No longer will you have to pay for extra features.
With VOIP service providers these usually come as standard. Features such as:1. Caller ID2. Call Waiting3. Call Transfer4.
Repeat Dialling5. Return Call6. Three-Way DiallingAdvanced call filtering features. These features allow you to decide how calls to a specific number are handled by using caller ID information. They allow you to:1.
Forward the call to a particular number2. Send the call directly to voicemail3. Give the caller a busy signal4. Play a "not-in-service" messageDisadvantagesSometimes the quality is not as good as phone lines. It's close and will continue to get better.
I suspect that within a year you will not be able to tell the difference.Set up can be very challenging. If you are not a techie, there is always someone you can hire to do it for you. With the financial savings you will get from it, it's worth it to pay someone if you are at all squimish about it.It does not work well with fax machines and alarm systems. It works and in short time this will also improve. If your internet access goes down then your phone will also go down. For most with high speed access this rarely happens. If the power goes off the phone will not work.
For most of us, this is also a rare occurrance. You can get backup batteries to resolve this issue if you are in a rural area and it happens often.Currently the government does not apply taxes to the service. If that changes VOIP may not be price effective anymore. VOIP is the future and more and more people are coming online with it every day. This may also effect a lowering of the cost in time. That is it in a nutshell.
It's not nearly as scary as you thought..

This holiday season marks my 3-year anniversary in theInternet Marketing business. Of course, on suchanniversaries we all ask ourselves: Am I better off now thenwhen I started? My enthusiastic answer is: By far :-) Thatautomatically raises another anniversary question: Am Iwhere I want to be? My answer, thoughtful but stillenthusiastic, is: Not quite ;-)Sound familiar? Or maybe you haven't gotten to the "betteroff" part yet. Regardless of how you answer these twointrospective questions, my piece of advice to you thisholiday season is the same: Take some time off. Relax, enjoy your family, regroup your thoughts and goals anddecide what is really important to you, your personal life, and the lives of those most important to you. This piece of advice, like most advice I give, comes frompersonal experience. I have been running around like crazyfor the past three years growing this Internet business.Granted, it has paid off well, in many visible ways, but atwhat personal price? My children miss...

Busy, Busy, Busy...
?busy, busy, busy, busy, busy?busy, busy, bus? OK, slap me with a wet diaper! Enough of that silliness. Most you know what I'm talking about though, right? That's us! Busy. Doing what? Stuff. What kinds of stuff? All kinds of stuff. Like what? You name it.
Give me an example. Can't. Why not? Too busy?OK ? that's it! Blow the danged whistle! We need a Time Out!Holy Smokes, Folks! We're going outta control. No, not all of us of course. But there are enough of us pushing our physical, mental and emotional limits that it's worthwhile talking about it.
Let me ask you this. When was the last time you just kicked back and looked at the clouds to see what cartoonish kinds of figures or shapes you could see in them? Or the last time you touched a plant leaf and really thought about how it felt and how amazing it was that it was an actual living thing? Or the last time you strolled leisurely down the road or path and thought about nothing in particular? Or the last time you watched...

Blowers
There are many types of Blowers -- leaf blowers, industrial blowers, snow blowers, etc, Each type has different subtypes such as backpack, handheld, corded and cordless, wheeled, electric-powered and gas-powered, and so on. Each type and subtype differs in function and purposes. For example, while some of them may be specifically manufactured for home maintenance, other more powerful units are aimed at commercial users.
Electric-powered blowers require an electrical power source provided from an electrical outlet, through an extension cord. Cordless blowers, on the other hand, use rechargeable batteries and are more suitable for smaller areas because of their limited operating time. Mixing oil and gasoline operates gas-powered leaf blowers.
2-stroke gasoline engines generally power backpack blowers, while wheeled units generally have 4-stroke gasoline engines.
Snow blowers can be single-stage and two-stage. The former is a light duty machine that uses...
Demise of the school run?
Every day thousands of parents move their children to and from school, without a thought for the environment, using inefficient petrol guzzlers (often 4 wheel drive!)Why not use an electric bike?1.???Young children aged 3 to 5 years can be carried on a bicycle child seat that attaches to the seat post of your Electric Bike.2.???Children of 5 to 10 years can be carried in a detachable bicycle trailer (a purpose made rear half of a child's bike) attached the seat post of your electric bike.3.???Children of 10 to 14 years can accompany you on their conventional bikes, while you ride with them on your Electric Bike.
